Good times are ahead for Chinese textile industry as the European Union have planned to abolish restrictions on ten categories of export in 2008.
The EU has stressed that it has no intention of extending quantitative restrictions on China's textiles after its expiry by the end of 2007 so as to achieve the liberalization of bilateral textile trade in time.
These categories of textile products, including cotton fabrics, T-shirts, pullovers, trousers, female shirts, bed linens, women's one-piece dresses, bras, tablecloths and linen yarn will be exempted from the quota system.
Exports to the United States are still under quota management, which will end by next year. At present, out of 34 categories, 21 kinds of products are bound under quota limit in US.
