New textile policy coming up, says Patnaik

Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Orissa, while inaugurating the Apparel Training and Design Centre at Mancheswar on July 24, announced the upcoming textile and handloom policy of the state.

Patnaik emphasized that only cluster development approach can help the over all growth of textile and handloom sector, which is passing through a bad phase.

The State Government is planning to establish textile parks and also take necessary steps for the revival of closed spinning mill units.

Other dignitaries present at the event were Golak Nayak, State Handloom Minister, Ajit Tripathy, Chief Secretary, Samar Ballav Mohapatra, former Union Secretary, A Saktivel, Chairman of Apparel Export Promotion Council Technical sub-committee.
