Two new textile units at Karnaphuli EPZ!

Two industrial units worth US $7.845 million are about to add up in the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (EPZ). This will be the result of a joint venture between Sri Lankan Yunusco K Textile Ltd and Shore to Shore (Bangladesh) Ltd.

Two agreements were inked between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority and the Shore to Shore (Bangladesh) Ltd and Yunusco K Textile Ltd on Monday, August 6.

One facility will get an investment of around US $5.106 million from Shore to Shore (Bangladesh) Ltd, will produce 11.7 million dozens of woven label, nine million dozens of printed fabric label and 15 million dozens of hang tag including different types of label, sewing ticket and barcode sticker annually.

Sri Lankan Yunusco K Textile Ltd has planned to invest about $2.739 million in the other, which will manufacture 5.85 million dozens of woven label, 6 million dozes of printed fabric label and 7.5 million dozes of hang tag yearly.

Together these facilities would create employment opportunity for nearly 300 locals and three foreign nationals.

Top level personnel of BEPZA, Shore to Shore (Bangladesh) Ltd and Yunusco K Textile Ltd were present during the signing of the lease agreements.
