Ministry of Trade recently revealed that Vietnamese textile and apparel export to Japan could be free from tax after two countries sign Economic Partners Agreement in November this year.
Japanese Government is preparing criteria on origin of Vietnamese textile and apparel products shipped to Japan.
According to this norm to get the tax exemption, Vietnamese enterprises must use domestic materials or that imported from Japan and ASEAN countries.
Vietnamese textile and apparel enterprises expressed concern regarding this policy as more than 80 percent of imported materials are supplied by China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
