According to an official report issued by the Chinese Commerce Department, anti-dumping tax levied on two Korean products in 2003 will expire on February 3, 2008.

The two products on which the anti-dumping tax were levied are Korean polyester slices and Korean terylene short fibre. Chinese Commerce Department said that if domestic enterprises producing these two items want to prolong the taxes, they will have to file an application for the same 60 days in advance.

The period of levy of an anti-dumping tax cannot exceed five years. However, it can be prolonged only upon establishing a case that removing the tax may adversely affect the interests of the local suppliers.

But Chinese Commerce Department expressed that Chinese enterprises who want the tax to continue must provide adequate proof to support their argument.
