In order to improve the 'made-in-China' image of local goods and increase its product quality, Chinese Textile Industry Association recently held a meeting of all textile-related organizations and associations.

In all, the meeting put forth six measures to achieve the aforementioned goal. Firstly, each association must regard the improvement of product quality as its primary task; secondly, they must strive to increase scientific and technological innovations.

Thirdly, all textile associations must jointly set standards of technique related to product quality; fourthly, products should undergo strict quality checks and all research and test centres must play an important role in achieving this objective.

They also vowed to test product quality before holding any exhibitions. Lastly, local governments must play a role in generating adequate media and public opinion to help the textile & clothing industry achieve its goals.
