A trade delegation headed by Acting High Commissioner of South Africa Cassim Peer is currently touring Pakistan.
This delegation in Islamabad stressed that the trade ties between the countries needed to be strengthened.
They invited Pakistani exporters from cement, mangoes, rice, textile, spices, surgical equipment and sports goods industry to expand their trade in South Africa.
Delegation visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and met with President ICCI Nasir Khan to discuss and explore potential ways to improve bilateral trade.
They said that South Africa has allocated $60 billion for infrastructure within five years emphasizing that this was a suitable time for countries to collaborations.
Delegation opined that both countries offered great opportunities for cooperation in the field of technology, diamond jewelry, steel products and transportation.
Khan supported the bilateral agreement and said that Pakistan was a big market for South Africa. He informed that while several companies had expressed keen interest, many in Islamabad were already doing business with South African enterprises.
