In order to promote balance of trade in the country and restrict manufacturing of products that emit high pollution, Chinese Commerce Department and Administration for the Environmental Protection recently announced that enterprises which disobey the environment law would not be permitted to export for up to three years.

At the same time, the Government urged local environmental-protection departments to carry out special investigations on all local and export enterprises and must inspect their production facility and the quantity of pollution discharge.

It is also decided that the environmental-protection departments would issue regular reports in this matter. Some special industries like the textile, light and chemical will be scrutinized and a strict check on these is expected.
