The Hangzhou National Standardization Technical Committee Secretariat recently announced that three new standards of textile for 'Textile fiber content logo', 'Denim clothing' and 'Pajamas sets' had been officially implemented on November 1. It is to be noted that these have replaced old standards which were set up in 1990s.
The standards were introduced by Gu Hong Feng, Director of Hangzhou quality and technical supervision institute. According to an official from the secretariat, this would accelerate the pace to meet international standards.
Fiber content means raw material component, which is closely related to product value, wear performance and wash maintenance. The new standards of 'Textile fiber content logo' would be applied on domestic sales of textile products. Compared to the old ones, these new standards have added new fiber tagging methods, new terminologies of fibers in line with international standards and listed specific denoting methods of various categories.
Denim apparel and pajamas are two important products in clothing. The new standards have incorporated related technology performance requirement, in accordance with modern consumer demand and international trend of green consumption.
The new standards have limited the use of hazardous substances, the performance of physical security and combustion safety, washing performance, requirements of color fastness and durability properties.
Qualified products manufactured by enterprises in accordance with the new standards would meet the people's need in a better way.
