Anti-dumping issues took the front seat in discussions between Commerce Minister of Pakistan Humayun Akhtar Khan and European Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson, in Geneva yesterday.
Khan clearly expressed his dissatisfaction at the result of review petition filed by his Government against the imposition of anti dumping duty by the EC on Pakistani bed linen.
Vacillating the grievances of Pakistan's linen industry at the EU decision on dumping margins, he highlighted the fact that all the 08 sample companies were challenging the antidumping duty in the Luxembourg Court.
He said the dumping margins arrived at by EC was based on erroneous calculation of normal value.
He got assurance from Mandelson on the issues who said he would look into the matter prior to the imposition of final antidumping duty on Pakistani bed linen.
