Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), has recently announced that from October 1 2008, it would apply the C/O (Cetificate of Origin) license to some categories of textile and garment products that will be exported to US market.
For sustainable export development of Vietnam's textile and apparel products to US market, MOIT is ready to apply the C/O grant to nine categories which are 338, 229, 340, 341, 345, 347, 348, 352 and 652.
These categories, according to Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas), are the ones that are experiencing a decrease in price realisation in comparison to products from other countries that are members of Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA).
