UN & Govt of Benin to hold commodity panel discussion on 'Cotton Problematique'

The mission of the Government of Benin to the United Nations, in cooperation with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, is organizing a panel discussion on "The Challenges for international commodity policy – the cotton problematique.”
This discussion will take place on 1 November, 3-5 pm at United Nations headquarters in New York.
The panel will be chaired by the Minister of Trade and Industry of Mali, H.E. Mr. Chogel Maiga. The Minister will also make a statement on the cotton situation in his country.
Other confirmed panelists include:
- The Ambassador of Benin to the UN in Geneva, H.E. Mr. Samuel Amehou;
- Mr. Chad Dobson, Director of Policy and Advocacy at Oxfam America;
- Mt. Terry Townsend, Executive Director of the International Cotton
Advisory Committee;
- Mr. Panos Konandreas, Senior Liaison Officer, FAO/Geneva;
- Ms. Lakshmi Puri, Director of UNCTAD's Division on Trade in Goods and Services, and Commodities.
