Chinese flax fabrics attract anti-dumping duty

The Government of India has imposed anti-dumping duty on imports of flax fabrics from China and Hong Kong, primarily used in curtains. The maximum duty levied is at the rate of Rs 209 per metre.

Directorate General of Anti- Dumping and Allied Duties after concluding that imports of flax fabrics from China and Hong Kong could prove to be detrimental to the domestic sector recommended the duty.

The anti-dumping duty is applicable for a period of five years and ranges between Rs 206.24 to Rs 209.72 to per meter. As per the notification, China and Hong Kong were dumping flax fabrics at low prices.
