Cotton prices up in Northern Zone

Local prices in India's Northern Zone continues to receive support of strong demand with daily deliveries reaching the average of 35,000 bales per day.

Local prices for J-34 styles are fluctuating between Rs 1,590 to Rs 1,625 per maund, or about 42.54 to 43.47 US cents per pound in Haryana.

This is a considerable increase from October 24 price levels of 40.91 to 42.39 in US cents per pound.

Meanwhile, Punjab prices were reported between Rs 1,640 to Rs 1,715 per maund, or around 43.87 to 45.89 US cents per pound.

The weather conditions remain clear in the Northern Zone, and harvesting is in progress.
