Lin Sheng-chung, Vice Minister of Economic Affairs said that, the Taiwanese government was in no hurry to ink the Economic Co-operation Framework Agreement (ECFA) with China, although it aimed at ending the pact by June end.
According to Lin, the third round of ECFA discussions will most likely be postponed to June, which indicates a tough time to ink the deal by month end. More so, he also added that, less than expected textile, machinery and petrochemical goods are going to be included in the ECFA 'early-harvest' program as that is how negotiations are going to be worked out.
During a joint committee meet in Legislative Yuan, Lin averred to the policy makers that, if the dialogues fail to give out even the least acceptable result, than Taiwanese government will postpone the signing of the deal.
In the meantime, development will soon be seen in the patent and trademark negotiations between the two sides.
