This support by the government comes in order to bring back the weavers who migrated to Surat, Gujarat from Telangana for better opportunities and for the uplifting of the weaving industry in the state.
The textile park in Madikonda will provide employment opportunities to 2000 people directly and 10,000 people indirectly.
Additionally, the state government is proposing a textile industry which will require 3000 acres of land. The land acquisition process is underway for the same.
However, the new textile park at Madikonda is independent of the state's proposed textile industry. (MCJ)
