Turkish GDP up 5.9% in Q3 2023; industrial sector value added up 5.7%

Turkiye’s gross domestic product (GDP) with chain-linked volume index increased by 5.9 per cent year on year (YoY) in the third quarter (Q3) this year, as per the Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat).

The value added increased by 5.7 per cent in the industrial sector.

Seasonally- and calendar-adjusted GDP with chain linked volume index increased by 0.3 per cent in Q3 2023 compared with the previous quarter. Calendar-adjusted GDP with chain linked volume index increased by 5.1 per cent YoY during the quarter.

The country’s GDP increased by 79.8 per cent and reached 7.682 trillion Turkish lira at current prices during the quarter. It was worth $295.815 billion in Q3 2023, an official release said.

Imports of goods and services increased by 14.5 per cent YoY during the quarter in the chained linked volume index, while similar exports increased by 1.1 per cent.
