UK GDP edges up 0.1% in Q3 as production sector weakens

UK real gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to have increased by 0.1 per cent quarter on quarter (QoQ) in the third quarter (Q3) this year compared with a QoQ growth of 0.3 per cent in Q2, according to the Office of National Statistics (ONS).

The GDP growth was 1.3 per cent year on year (YoY) in the quarter.

The QoQ growth was 0.2 per cent in the three months to August 2025.

Growth in the production sector fell by 0.5 per cent QoQ in Q3 2025.

Real GDP per head is estimated to have shown no growth QoQ in Q3 2025 and was up by 0.8 per cent YoY.

Monthly GDP is estimated to have fallen by 0.1 per cent in September, following no growth in August and an unrevised fall of 0.1 per cent in July 2025. Production fell by 2 per cent month on month.
