In the Asian market, benzene prices rose US $4 from the previous trading day to close at US $1059-1062 / ton (FOB Korea) on July 6.
The Chinese domestic benzene market too moved higher on Wednesday, but trading atmosphere was deserted.
Market price in East China ranged between 7,650-7,700 Yuan / ton, market price in South China was assessed at 7,600-7,600 Yuan / ton and mainstream offers in North China marked 7,600-7,700 Yuan / ton.
Due to the impact of an increase in international crude oil prices and overseas offers, combined with promotion from downstream styrene, Chinese benzene market went up.
But operating rate of downstream factories was insufficient, demand weakened and overall market transaction was limited.
