China's demand of PET products is still strong and capacity expansions are ongoing. China maintained a high expansion of PET production capacity before 2005, which continued to grow in 2006. However thereafter, the growth started to slow down.
It is predicted that China's PET production capacity will reach 6 million tons in 2011; with major growth areas for PET production will be PET bottle chips, polyester membrane and industrial filament in the future.
China's polyester industry has entered a cycle of large-scale development in 2011; polyester production capacity shows a rapid expansion to meet the needs of demand for polyester products.
