The benzene market in China appeared subdued on Wednesday with sellers reluctant to sell at lower prices. In East China, market transactions took place in the price range of 7550-7600 yuan/ton, while in South China the price was around 7500-7600 yuan/ton and in North China the price was around 7500-7550 yuan/ton.

There was limited supply in the market. The downstream sector showed moderate buying interest and the market lacked large orders. In the short term, the market is expected to show a slight upward trend.

The Northwest Brand of China National Petroleum has officially increased its listing price of benzene by 50 yuan/ton. The ex-factory price of Dushanzi and Urumqi Petrochemical for pure benzene in East China was 6500 yuan/ton, while the ex-factory price of Lanzhou Petrochemical was 6850 yuan/ton.
