Japanese manmade fibre (MMF) output dipped marginally in November 2011 from a year earlier, said the Japan Chemical Fibres Association.
November fibre production reached 80,687 tons, down 2.5 from November 2010. Off this, synthetic fibre output dropped 3.7 percent to 66,466 tons.
However, production of polyester filament and nylon filament was up 2.8 percent to 15,318 tons and 1.1 percent to 14,221 tons, respectively.
Acrylic fibre production fell to 9,963 tons, down 5.3 percent and polyester staple fibre declined 8.3 percent to 66,466 tons.
