Cotton linter & VSF prices decline last week

In the just concluded week, price of cotton linter went down, as price could not sustain at higher level and declined from RMB 4500/ton to RMB 4475/ton, whereas trading offers were in between RMB 4450/ton to RMB 4500/ton. Buying sentiment remained quite low.

Price of dissolving pulp did not change in the week under review and was stable in the range of RMB 9450/ton to RMB 9500/ton in Chinese domestic market. Price of imported dissolving wood pulp was in the range of US$ 1300/ton to US$ 1500/ton.

Pulp imported from U.S.A, Canada and Sweden was in the range of US$ 1325/ton to US$ 1475/ton. Counter offers were around US$ 1275/ton to US$ 1400/ton. Pulp imported from Brazil was heard at US$ 1500/ton and pulp imported from Indonesia was at US$ 1400/ton.

Price of VSF decreased at slow and steady rate during the week as producers firmly held their offers around RMB 17550/ton to RMB 17650/ton.

Earlier in the week, price opened at RMB 17,600/ton, but without support of demand fundamentals, trading price went down to RMB 17550/ton. In Chinese market, offers for imported VSF hovered in the range of US$ 2.35/kg to US$ 2.42/kg.

Market experts expect imported VSF price to be range bound around US$ 2.45/kg in near future.
