Chinese caprolactam (CPL) imports declined in January from December 2011, but rose over the same period last year, according to statistics.
China imported 64,900 tons of caprolactam in January 2012, down 4,300 tons or 6.21 percent from its previous month.
However it rose by a massive 20.40 percent or 11,000 tons from a year earlier.
The average import price stood at US $2,751 / ton in January, down 7.37 percent and 2.35 percent from December 2011 and January 2011, respectively.
