South Korea based Tongsuh Petrochemicals is planning to undertake maintenance turnaround of both its Acrylonitrile (ACN) lines in October 2012.

While speaking to fibre2fashion, a Tongsuh official said, “We have scheduled maintenance of both the ACN lines in October 2012 and they will stay shutdown for a period of one month”.

One line has an ACN production capacity of 70,000 tons / annum and the other line has a capacity of 245,000 tons / year.

When asked to comment on the current state of ACN market, the official said, “ACN market is very strong in the S E Asian regions due to annual turnaround by ACN makers like CPDC in Taiwan and Asahi Kasei in Japan”.

The official further added that ACN producers will normally have their annual turnaround from the month of February to May, 2012.
