Chinese imports of caprolactam (CPL) and nylon 6 chips shot up in February, compared to its previous month.
China imported 85,400 tons of caprolactam in February, up 31.58 percent from 64,900 tons in January 2012.
The average import price was US $2,694 / ton in February, compared to $2,751 / ton in January, according to customs statistics.
In the same month, China imported 66,700 tons of nylon 6 chips in February, a rise of 34.20 percent from January.
The average price marked $2,984 / ton, an increase of $65/ ton compared with the first month of 2012.
