Japanese naphtha imports plunged 23 percent in February from a year earlier, figures released by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) said.
Naphtha imports touched 1.11 million tons in February 2012, down from 1.43 million tons in February 2011.
However, it rose 15 percent from January 2012, when it stood at 961,199 tons.
The average price of naphtha imports too grew from its previous month from US $912.7 / ton to $944.9 / ton.
