The average price of viscose staple fiber (VSF) 1.5D×38mm rose from 15,950 Yuan / ton in early January to 17,750 Yuan / ton in mid-February, rising sharply by 11.3 percent.

But VSF prices started declining after mid-February, which however rebounded by 300 Yuan/ ton in mid-March.

But by March-end it finally fell to 15,850 Yuan / ton, mainly due to lack of downstream support.

The closing price of March was 1,900 Yuan / ton lower than the highest point in the first quarter, or down 10.7 percent.
