Japan's naphtha imports dip in April

Naphtha imports by Japanese companies declined by 22 percent year-on-year in April this year.

Japan imported 0.98 million tons of naphtha in April 2012 compared to imports of 1.25 million tons registered during the same month last year, according to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

However, the April imports were 10.8 percent more than 0.88 tons of naphtha imported by the country in March 2012.

Accordingly, the value of naphtha imports too grew from US$ 892 million in March this year to US$ 1.067 billion in April this year.
