Chinese exports of spandex marginally up in April

China's exports of spandex registered a marginal growth in April 2012, while imports of the fibre fell in double digits in the same month.

China shipped about 3,121 tons of spandex in April 2012, up 48 tons or 1.56 percent from March 2012.

The average export price was US $6.7 / kg, up 0.9 percent from March, according to customs statistics.

China's imports of spandex were about 1,311 tons in April 2012, down about 248 tons or 15.91 percent compared to March.

The average price was $7.55 / kg, an increase of 3.57 percent compared with March.
