PTA prices in Asia breached the psychological mark of US $1,000 per ton during trading hours on Monday.
This is the first time in 20 months that PTA prices have fallen below the level of $1,000 per ton.
However, by closing time, Asian PTA prices had recovered and closed at $1,005 per ton.
PTA producers are very likely to cut operating capacities, following the sharp fall in PTA trends in recent days.
