Turnaround at benzene plant of JFE Chemical in Q3

Japan-based JFE Chemical is planning a maintenance turnaround of its aromatics plant in the third quarter of 2012.

The plant which produces Benzene, Solvent MX and Toluene (BTX) will be taken off-stream on September 15 and will remain shut till October 20, a company official told fibre2fashion.

The aromatics plant has a capacity to produce 120,000 tons per year of benzene, 6,600 tons per annum of Solvent MX and 23,000 tons per year of Toluene.

He further informed that the plant is currently operating at 75 percent capacity rates.
