The Government of Belarus, a land-locked country in Eastern Europe, is planning to invest around €13.7 billion to develop the country’s petrochemical industry.

The Government proposes to construct 40 new manufacturing complexes, which include a plant for production of methanol at JSC Grodno Azot.

The plan also includes building new polyester complexes at JSC Mogilevkhimvolokno and at JSC Polymir plant.

Additionally, a plant for production of composite materials, a first in Belarus, would be set up in Polotsk.

Initially, around €2.2 billion of investment would be raised in the form of loans, while another €5.7 billion would be invested by the companies participating in the programme, the Government said.
