Paraxylene (PX) prices remained unchanged in Asia and US in the previous week, whereas prices surged up slightly in Europe in the same week.

In Korea and S.E. Asia, PX prices were stable in the reporting week due to sluggish support from the downstream buyers. Prices were assessed at US$ 1450-1465/ton FOB Korea and US$ 1455-1475/ton CFR S.E. Asia respectively.

In Europe, PX prices went up slightly in same week. The price rise was supported on the back of reports of a higher initial settlement of PX contract prices for September in Europe.  P-Xylene prices were assessed during the week at US$ 1350-1365/ton FOB Rotterdam. Initial contract prices for September were settled at € 1190/ton FD NWE mark, higher by € 60/ton as compared to the last month contract prices.

In US, PX prices remained steady in the week. In the initial days of last week, prices were assessed at US$ 1395/ton lower by US$ 10/ton, as compared to the same period of the previous week. Speculators witnessed the spot prices of P-Xylene in the range of US$ 1395-1425/ton FD US.
