Weak demand to plague Chinese acrylic fibre market

Chinese domestic acrylic fibre market remained calm during the eight-day holiday period.

Prior to the holidays, China’s acrylic fibre market received strong support from costs, but the market suffered from lack of demand. Spot acrylic fibre trading was dull and offers from manufacturers were stable.

In East China, price of acrylic 1.5D staple fibre prevailed in the range of 16,800-18,000 yuan/ton, in terms of cash payment.

In the post-holiday period, the market is not likely to witness any immediate increase in demand as downstream manufacturers are expected to purchase as per their production demand.

Hence, spot trading for acrylic fibre will tend to be stalemate.
