China's textile raw material market gains in Q3

The prices of several textile raw materials increased in Chinese markets during the third quarter of 2012.
 
Prices of 15 of the 20 textile raw materials that are monitored by an agency increased during July-September 2012 period.
 
The prices of acrylic fibre, polyester filament yarn and polyester staple fibre rose in the range of 14.5 percent to 18.8 percent during the three-month period.
 
For example, the market price of polyester staple fibre 1.4D x 38mm grew from 9,500 yuan/ton at the beginning of July to 11,050 yuan/ton at the end of September, registering an increase of 16.32 percent.
 
Among the raw materials that saw a modest price gain between 0.5 percent and 3.5 percent during the quarter were Zhengzhou cotton, cotton grade 328, viscose staple fibre, 30D spandex and 40D spandex.
 
However, prices of 20D spandex, nylon filament and ICE cotton declined slightly in the range of 0.7 percent to 2 percent.
