Chinese PTA market remains flat on Sept 16

In North China, purified terephthalic acid (PTA) market remained flat on September 16. Cargo holders quoted price of about 8,500 yuan/ton, while downstream buyers bid for price of around 8,400 yuan/ton, and actual negotiations took place in the price range of 8,400-8,450 yuan/ton.
 
In East China too, the domestic PTA market remained flat on September 16. Market offers were around 8,450 yuan/ton, downstream manufacturers bid for about 8,350 yuan/ton, and actually negotiated prices were in the range of 8,350-8,450 yuan/ton. However, very few actual negotiations took place.
 
For Taiwan produced PTA, market offers were in the range of US$ 1,110-1,115/ton and bids were for price of US$ 1,095/ton or higher, and negotiated price was around US$ 1,105/ton.
 
For PTA imported from South Korea, market offers were around US$ 1,100/ton and downstream bids were around US$ 1,090/ton and limited market discussion took place around US$ 1,095/ton.
