PSF & VSF prices decline in Chinese market

The prices of polyester staple fibre (PSF) and viscose staple fibre (VSF) declined during the last week in China.
 
The market price of 1.4D x 38mm PSF dipped to about 10,950 yuan/ton last week.
 
Similarly, the price of rayon yarn 10s weakened to 17,000 yuan/ton, but it still had demand. The price of rayon yarn 20s declined by 200 yuan/ton to 17,600 yuan, whereas the price of 13s dipped to 17,200 yuan/ton.
 
The price of VSF decreased to 14,600 yuan/ton, down 300 yuan/ton compared to a week earlier.
 
Meanwhile, increased demand was seen for cotton yarn 21s and open-end cotton yarn 40s.
 
The sales of cotton/polyester yarn 80/20 45s increased.
 
The price of polyester yarn 45s slightly dipped to 15,700 yuan/ton.
 
No transaction was seen in polyester 50s and its price fell by 200 yuan/ton to 16,600 yuan/ton.
 
The prices of polyester yarn and rayon yarn are likely to further decline in the short-term.
