Zhejiang Shaoxing Far East Petrochemical Company (FEPCO) has shutdown a part of its purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant with production capacity of 1.4 million tons/year for routine maintenance.

However, another PTA production line with capacity of 600,000 tons/year is operating normally and all its output is being supplied to contract buyers.

The company said sales are fair and inventories are currently at low level.

FEPCO introduced the settlement price at 8650 yuan/ton for October PTA contracts, while the listing price for November PTA contracts is being implemented at 8700 yuan/ton.

The PTA plant is expected to take about a month’s time to restart after the planned maintenance.
