Iran signs US$12bn petrochemical contracts since March

Iran has signed new petrochemical contracts worth US$ 12 billion during the current Iranian calendar year that began on March 20, 2012, Deputy Oil Minister Abdolhossein Bayat has said.
 
Most of the new investments are in the downstream petrochemical sector, the Minister told Mehr News Agency, Iran’s Press TV reported.
 
The Minister said that at present financial, technical and other assessments of the new investments are being carried out.
 
During the last few years, Iran has significantly increased the quantity and range of petrochemical production.
