China's PTA spot market enters slight stalemate

China’s purified terephthalic acid (PTA) spot market entered slight stalemate on December 19, with very few actual negotiations taking place.
 
In East China, market offers for PTA were in the range of 8,550-8,600 yuan/ton, while buyers inquired for prices in the range of 8,450-8,500 yuan/ton. Very few actual negotiations took place in the range of 8,500-8,550 yuan/ton.
 
For Taiwan produced PTA, market offers were in the range of US$ 1,165-1,170/ton on December 19. Downstream buyers inquired for prices in the range of US$ 1,150-1,155/ton and actual discussions took place in the range of US$ 1,155-1,160/ton.
 
For Korean PTA, prices were in the range of US$ 1,155-1,160/ton. Inquires in the market were for price of around US$ 1,145/ton and market negotiations remained at around US$ 1,150/ton. Actual negotiations entered into slight stalemate.
