China's PTA imports nosedive in November

There was a sharp dip of around 56 percent year-on-year in China’s purified terephthalic acid (PTA) imports (Tariff No 29173611) in November 2012, according to relevant statistics.
 
Last month, China imported 216,700 tons of PTA compared to 497,100 tons imported in November 2011.
 
The average import price in November was US$ 1,094/ton, down 3.75 percent year-on-year, but an increase of 0.46 percent month-on-month.
 
China imported 93,900 tons of PTA (Tariff No 29173619) in November 2012, which was an increase of 3,800 tons over the same period last year and 4,000 tons more than October imports. The average import price was US$ 1,073/ton, down 4.94 percent year-on-year, but up 1.88 percent month-on-month.
