Trading volume slightly reduces in Chinese PTA market

There was a slight reduction in trading volume in Chinese purified terephthalic acid (PTA) market on January 9.
 
In East China, PTA prices were quoted around 9,000 yuan/ton on January 9, while downstream manufacturers bid for price of around 8,900 yuan/ton, and actually negotiated price was around 8,950 yuan/ton.
 
For Taiwan produced cargo, PTA offers were around US$ 1,215/ton, bids from downstream buyers were around US$ 1,205/ton and negotiated price was around US$ 1,210/ton.
 
For Korea produced cargo, PTA offers were in the range of US$ 1,205-1,210/ton, while downstream buyers bid for price of around US$ 1,195/ton and negotiated price remained around US$ 1,200/ton. Overall, a slightly cautious market sentiment prevailed.
