Several textile and garment enterprises in China have stopped procurement of yarn in view of the upcoming Spring Festival holidays.

Some manufacturers have already entered holiday mood, while the remaining would completely halt production by the end of January, according to market reports.

Hence, the trade volume of yarn has declined sharply in the main yarn producing provinces of Shandong, Hebei and Henan.

The cotton yarn market is weak due to cotton prices remaining soft and steady in recent weeks. Currently, the price of cotton yarn C32S in mainstream market is about 26,000 yuan/ton, while the price of higher grade yarn is in the range of 26,500-27,500 yuan/ton.

The polyester yarn market is also weak as polyester staple fibre prices are flat in recent period. At present, the mainstream price of T63/C35 32S yarn is around 20,000 yuan/ton, while the price of higher grade is in the range of 20,500-21,000 yuan/ton.

The rayon yarn market in China is stable as prices of viscose staple fibre have stabilized in recent period. The mainstream price of rayon yarn 30s is currently in the range of 18,500-19,000 yuan/ton, while the price of higher grade is around 19,500 yuan/ton.
