Japan-based Dia-Nitrix has reduced operating rates at both its acrylonitrile (ACN) plants.

“We have been forced to reduce operating ratio to 70% at two ACN plants, owing to poor market conditions and unfavorable Asian spot market prices”, a company official told fibre2fashion.

He further added that the ACN plant in Mizushima will be shut down from the 2nd week of February to 1st week of May, 2013 to adjust the inventory level.

Dia-Nitrix operates two ACN plants in Mizushima and Otake with a production capacity of 115,000 mt/year and 90,000 mt/year, respectively.
