Transactions in Chinese yarn markets have almost reduced to zero as majority of textile and garment manufacturers have shutdown for Spring festival holidays in February.

At present, cotton yarn prices are stable in major yarn producing provinces of Shandong, Hebei and Henan. The mainstream offers of cotton yarn C32s are around 26,000 yuan/ton, while the prices of higher grade yarn is in the range of 26,500-27,500 yuan/ton.

Similarly, the prices of polyester/cotton yarn are also stable and the price of T63/C35 yarn 32s is currently quoted in mainstream market at 20,000 yuan/ton, while the prices of higher grade are in the range of 20,500-21,000 yuan/ton.

However, the prices of some rayon yarn varieties have increased due to a rise in price of viscose staple fibre. The mainstream price of rayon yarn R30s is around 19,000 yuan/ton, and for higher grade is around 19,500 yuan/ton, but there is no transaction in the market.
