The cotton yarn markets are showing insufficient momentum in major cotton yarn producing Chinese provinces of Shandong, Hebei and Henan.

Price-wise, the cotton yarn markets are stable, as spot cotton prices are still strong.

Some spinners have not increased their operation rate after the Spring Festival, owing to relatively poor sales of products. At present, the mainstream price of cotton yarn C32s is around 26,000 yuan/ton, while the prices of higher grades are in the range of 26,500-27,500 yuan/ton.

Meanwhile, the prices of polyester/cotton yarn are impacted due to recent fall in prices of polyester staple fibre. Some sellers are even offering promotional prices. Currently, the mainstream price of T63/C35 32s is hovering below 20,000 yuan/ton, and the prices of higher grade yarn are in the range of 20,500-21,000 yuan/ton.

Rayon yarn prices have become steady and the rising trend has ended due to stabilization of prices of viscose staple fibre. At present, rayon yarn R30s is traded in the range of 19,000-19,500 yuan/ton in the mainstream market, while higher grade prices are in the range of 19,500-20,000 yuan/ton.
