Prices of imported cotton yarn rise in China

The prices of imported cotton yarn increased in China owing to a rise in prices of US cotton last week.
 
On average, the prices of all varieties of imported cotton yarn increased in the range of 500-800 yuan/ton.
 
At Foshan port, the delivery prices for ‘A’ grade yarn, in terms of cash payment, including tax, were as follows:
 
The price of 8s siro-spun Pakistani denim yarn was quoted at 23,300 yuan/ton, while the price of 10s siro-spun Pakistani denim yarn was 23,800 yuan/ton, 20s knitting yarn from Pakistan (carded yarn) was 26000 yuan/ton, and 20s knitting yarn from Pakistan (combed yarn) was 29,000 yuan/ton.
 
Similarly, the price of 32s carded yarn from India was quoted at 26,500 yuan/ton, while the price of combed yarn was offered at 30,000 yuan/ton, 40s carded yarn from India was at 27,500 yuan/ton, and 40s combed yarn from India was at 31,000 yuan/ton.
 
The prices of ‘B’ grade yarn were lower by about 1,000 yuan/ton compared to ‘A’ grade yarn.
