Chinese PTA market trends on March 20

In East China, spot offers of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) were around 8,100 yuan/ton on March 20, 2013.
 
Bids from downstream manufacturers were in the range of 8,000-8,050 yuan/ton, and discussions were held around the price of 8,050 yuan/ton. Trading volume was normal.
 
The PTA market in terms of US dollar too slipped on the day. For Taiwan produced PTA, sporadic offers were in the range of US$ 1,115-1,120/ton, buyers bid for price in the range of US$ 1,100-1,105/ton and negotiations were held in the range of US$ 1,105-1,110/ton.
 
For Korean PTA, sporadic offers were in the range of US$ 1,110-1,115/ton, bids from downstream buyers were in the range of US$ 1,095-1,100/ton, and trading discussions were in the range of US$ 1,100-1,105/ton. Trading atmosphere was moderate.
