Rayon yarn prices continue to fall in Chinese markets

The price of viscose staple fibre is continuing to fall in the Chinese market. In addition, exports from downstream fabric sector have slowed down. These two reasons have together led to lower demand of rayon yarn.

Therefore, prices of rayon yarn are continuing to fall in the Chinese market. At present, the mainstream price of rayon yarn R30s is around 18,000 yuan/ton, while the price of higher grade is in the range of 18,500-19,000 yuan/ton.

Meanwhile, the spot price of cotton has weakened in the Chinese domestic market, which may lead to a dip in cotton yarn prices. However, actual quotations of cotton yarn are currently stable in main provinces of Shandong, Hebei and Henan.

Currently, the mainstream price of cotton yarn C32s is around 26,000 yuan/ton, while the price for higher grade is in the range of 26,500-27,500 yuan/ton.

The prices of polyester staple fibre are rising in recent days, which act as stimulation for further increase in prices of downstream polyester products. As a result, quotations of some lower-grade polyester yarn have increased, but overall polyester/cotton yarn prices are generally stable.

Currently, the mainstream price of T63/C35 32s yarn is around 19,500 yuan/ton, while the price of higher grade is being quoted around 20,000 yuan/ton.
